Healing Rain. . .
“Miracles fall like drops of healing rain from Heaven on a dry and dusty world, where starved and thirsty creatures come to die. Now they have water. Now the world is green. And everywhere the signs of life spring up, to show that what is born can never die, for what has life has immortality.” A Course in Miracles W-pII.13.5.
In the dry and dusty places of your mind,
on the roads of desolation
where you seek and never find,
there's a homeless child who's dying
in your wilderness of lying.
Endlessly she's crying out
and begging you to give:
Healing rain, living waters of God's mercy.
For healing rain, the arid world you made is thirsting.
You're in pain. Will you let the Spirit bless you,
give up your dream of death to healing rain?
In your heart there lies a garden seared with hate,
where nothing grows but angry thoughts
against the self you made.
There every hope must wither
for lack of your forgiveness.
The child cries out, "Deliver me!
I'm begging you to give:
Healing rain, living waters of God's mercy.
For healing rain, the arid world you made is thirsting.
You're in pain. Will you let the Spirit bless you,
give up your dream of death to healing rain?
Do you know your gentle power deep within,
the moisture of the miracle
released when you forgive?
Let love flow in your garden
to soften what was hardened,
to bring forth blooms of pardon
that the child in you will give.
Healing rain, living waters of God's mercy.
For healing rain, the arid world you made is thirsting.
You're in pain. Will you let the Spirit bless you,
give up your dream of death to healing rain?
